Public transport in Prague has taken a major step forward with the deployment of the first new low-floor Škoda 52T trams, recently introduced on the busy Line 12. These state-of-the-art vehicles, which can carry up to 240 passengers, offer improved comfort and operational efficiency. A key element of their equipment is the onboard passenger information technology delivered by Bustec.
To ensure seamless passenger communication, the Škoda 52T trams are equipped with modern LED displays from Bustec. Installed both inside and outside the vehicles, these panels provide clear, dynamic information about the route and upcoming stops. Passengers have continuous access to real-time data on the vehicle’s position, the next stops, and any service disruptions. The Bustec system ensures smooth transitions between displayed messages and supports easy orientation for all users.
The rollout of Škoda 52T trams with Bustec technologies marks another step in the modernization of Prague’s public transport network. Additional vehicles are expected to be delivered throughout the year, gradually improving passenger comfort and access to reliable information on Prague Public Transit lines. This collaboration highlights the importance of involving leading technology providers in shaping the future of urban mobility.
